But you already knew that, right? Because you’re friends with her? Well, you’re not alone. A survey conducted by Accenture revealed that baby boomers (born 1946-1964) are beating Gen Y’rs on social network technology uptake this year by up to 20 times;
Meanwhile Gen Y consumer technology adoption generally is slipping. Have we reached critical mass for adopting new technology? Are we suffering from tech and info-glut?
For all the naysayers, this shows that social media is without a doubt mainstream. This gives new considerations for messaging, segmentation and audience reach, as many pre-conceived notions of generational uptake divide are now starting to erode.
